Shipping

As of Oct.27th Winter shipping rules are in effect

1. We offer live arrival guarantee on any plant shipment sent by Canada post xpresspost and Purolator express only You are free to use any of these methods.  If you do choose Canada Post we do advise using their flex address option where the package will be delivered to the nearest post office for you to pickup.  This will reduce the amount of time it spends in a truck.  Details can be found here.  https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/en/personal/receiving/alternative-delivery/flexdelivery.page

If you do choose another method of shipping and have issues, please do not email me, this is a risk you are taking yourself.

2. It is up to you to be home when the shipment is received.  We are easily able to check tracking to see if a package was left outside.  DO NOT let this happen. If you are not sure you will be home, contact the courier and make other arrangements.  Alternately you can sign up for Canada post flex delivery

DURING THE WINTER MONTHS WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO HOLD BACK SHIPMENTS IF WE DECIDE ITS TOO COLD TO SHIP.  Typically anything under -15-18c is fine.

If you receive a damaged shipment in the winter months, we will refund those damaged plants if you provide a photo within 24 hours.  Any shipments that are a total loss can be reshipped in March or a refund of the plants (minus shipping) will be given.  It is up to you..  Do not order again, the chances of it happening again are high due to some irregularity in the shipping line.   Shipping is never refunded, it is only offered as store credit.

Please note: Local pickup is available for anyone in Winnipeg or surrounding area

Packing of plants

We do not use heat packs or ice packs in our shipping. Heat packs for plants for the most part are unnecessary and may cause the shipment to overheat. Plants (unlike fish) can withstand very low temperatures and actually ship better in very low temperatures. If circumstances cause a box of plants to completely freeze, its unlikely a heat pack would have helped much in that situation. Instead of keeping the box at -20c a heat pack would have kept it at -10c. Plants will freeze either way. Another reason we do not use heat packs is that in order to use one properly, a larger box with more oxygen is necessary. This would drive an xpresspost shipment to Toronto from $14 to over $30. Not worth it for the average plant order. Generally, if plants are transported within sufficient time, the period of time the box spends in the Canada post truck will not cause damage. This of course is not always the case and we do have occasional shipments that get frozen. Do not worry, we will work it out!

Here is how we pack our plants

1. Each species is labeled and placed into it's own sealed bag.
2. All bags are then placed into one larger bag and then into a small box for shipping.

By keeping the shipment as small and compact as possible, we are able to offer low shipping rates.
Hard goods can generally be added to plant shipments at no extra cost.

We are available for plant pick ups most nights. We are no longer open for browsing in store. I just don't have enough time to set aside for it.

PLEASE NOTE; IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BE HOME TO RECEIVE THE ORDER. PLANTS LEFT OVER THE WEEKEND OR OUTSIDE WILL NOT BE SUBJECT TO ANY KIND OF REFUND CONSIDERATION SHOULD THEY NOT ARRIVE IN SATISFACTORY CONDITION
