Eleocharis acicularis (Potted & Grown Immersed)
Create a natural, meadow-like look in your aquarium with Eleocharis acicularis, one of the most popular hairgrass species for aquascaping. This fine-bladed foreground plant spreads by runners to form a lush, vibrant green carpet that provides excellent shelter for shrimp and small fish.
This potted specimen has been grown fully submerged (immersed), allowing for a smoother transition into your aquarium with less melting and faster establishment compared to emersed-grown plants.
Features:
- Fine, grass-like leaves create a soft, natural appearance
- Excellent foreground or midground carpeting plant
- Spreads naturally by runners to form a dense lawn
- Ideal for nature-style and Iwagumi aquascapes
- Safe for shrimp, fry, and all freshwater community fish
- Potted and grown immersed for easier aquarium adaptation
Care Requirements:
- Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
- Lighting: Medium to High
- CO₂: Optional, but recommended for faster carpeting
- Growth Rate: Moderate
- Placement: Foreground to Midground
For best results, divide the pot into several small plugs and plant each plug a few centimeters apart. As the plants establish, they'll send out runners and gradually fill in to create a beautiful, natural carpet.
