Lilaeopsis brasiliensis (Brazilian Micro Sword)
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, commonly known as Brazilian Micro Sword, is a popular carpeting plant that creates a natural grass-like foreground in planted aquariums. Its thin, bright green blades grow in small clumps and gradually spread through runners, forming a lush, low-growing carpet across the substrate.
This plant is ideal for aquascapers looking to achieve a natural meadow or lawn effect in the foreground of their aquarium. Under good lighting and with CO₂ supplementation, Lilaeopsis brasiliensis spreads more quickly and stays compact, creating a dense carpet. In lower-tech aquariums it will still grow, but at a slower rate and with slightly taller leaves.
Our Lilaeopsis brasiliensis plants are grown in pots in our nursery in Winnipeg to ensure strong root systems and healthy growth before shipping. For shipping efficiency, the plastic pots will be removed prior to shipping.
