Limnobium laevigatum, commonly known as Amazon Frogbit, is a beautiful floating plant valued for its round green leaves and long decorative root system that hangs beneath the surface. It creates a natural, tranquil look while helping to shade the aquarium and reduce excess nutrients in the water.
This fast-growing plant is excellent for planted tanks, shrimp tanks, and breeding setups where floating cover is beneficial. Its dangling roots provide shelter for fry and shrimp while also helping improve water quality by absorbing nitrates.
Best grown in calm water with gentle surface movement. Strong agitation or constantly wet leaves may slow growth or damage foliage. Under good lighting and stable nutrients, it multiplies quickly and can be thinned as needed.
