Microsorum pteropus, commonly known as Java Fern, is one of the most popular and beginner-friendly aquarium plants. It features tough, textured green leaves and a hardy rhizome that can be attached directly to rocks or driftwood.

Planting & Care
Attach Microsorum pteropus to rocks or driftwood using aquarium-safe glue or thread. Do not bury the rhizome, as it can rot if covered by substrate. The roots will gradually anchor themselves to the hardscape.
Java Fern tolerates a wide range of aquarium conditions and does well in lower-light setups. CO₂ is not necessary, although supplementation can encourage faster growth.
